very interesting initiative for schools across Europe.
AVATAR "Added Value of Teaching in a virtual world," is a two-year project (December 2009 - November 2011) co-funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme, Comenius sub that, starting from the premise that educational technologies are used in a limited way to school, wants to increase the quality of teaching and promoting the use of educational workshops in virtual worlds.
AVATAR designed to ensure that teachers and high school students the necessary skills and methodology to use MV as learning environments able to support and complement the teaching usually made in the classroom or in workshops.
The team of researchers from AVATAR is building a European-wide research on the use of MV in teaching. In this regard, researchers are asking the opinion of teachers by filling out an online questionnaire.
They have also created video interviews with experts. ( my contribution HERE)
Teachers interested in training, coming soon, teaching in virtual worlds can be made before October 31, 2010 by completing an online form. All
